Reposting this from 2009:
How many people desire to live in a polluted environment? How many people would like to drink contaminated water? Exactly. You could ask people from a broad spectrum of political affiliations and hear the same answer - everyone wants a clean environment.
As one can read in the Republicans for Environmental Protection philosophy statement, it was Republicans like Teddy Roosevelt "who established our unmatched system of wildlife refuges and national parks."
Admittedly, the Democrats in the US have control of the environmental platform and have nourished it to the extent that most Americans associate the environment with the Democrats. However, their stronghold in the environmental arena may be caused mostly by resistance of Conservatives (Republicans) to allign themselves with left-wing treehuggers. I am one of them. Yes, I am deeply concerned about the condition of my environment, but I also put the value of human life ahead of the life of a tree.
As I have written in a previous post, I enjoy all things green -- green design, architecture, technology, etc. In fact, I get excited when I attend green conferences and watch all the great innovations in green industries coming on the market. It's exciting to see different products that you can buy that enhance your surroundings while rendering little or no damage to the environment. Moreover, it feels good! It feels good to wear eco-friendly clothing; to eat organic food; to be in a non-toxic environment. And you don't have to be a Democrat or "liberal" to feel this way. It's just a natural human reaction when everything works in harmony.

It's been a long time
It's strange how I lost my desire to work in the Green Movement over the last couple of years. There's just not enough God in it -- I've lost my passion. God created all the things that environmentalists are so eager to protect and yet the majority of them believe it was created by evolution. It's so empty -- this Green Movement -- without God. Empty.

Going to eliminate political commentary from my blog -- it's going to be completely neutral. Yay!

Tasty Bait
OK, getting reminded of what drew me into the "Green Movement"....

So much innovation, so little time...
Still need to add commentary on the Republicans for the Environment group.
Bis gleich! (German for "See you soon!")
